APS employees

Today the Assistant Minister to the Minister for the Public Service, the Hon Ben Morton MP, officially opened the Australian Public Service Academy, a new approach to APS-wide learning and development.

The Australian Public Service Commissioner's annual report 2014–15 is provided in accordance with the provisions of section 44 of the Public Service Act 1999. The State of the Service Report explores how the capability and capacity of the APS contributes to meeting strategic goals and addressing the Government's priorities.

A Machinery of Government (MoG) change occurs when the Government decides to change the way Commonwealth responsibilities are managed. It can involve the movement of functions, resources and people from one agency to another.

APSEDii stands for the ‘Australian Public Service Employment Database interactive interface’. The latest interactive interface is a style presentation of characteristics and movements of the Australian Public Service (APS) workforce.

All APS employees are required to comply with the Code of Conduct, including to at all times behave in a way that upholds the APS Values and Employment Principles, and the integrity and good reputation of their agency and the APS.
Leadership Capability Wheel Leadership Capability Wheel

SES require a broad range of leadership capabilities to navigate the APS through increasing complexity.

This guide is structured around the three professional relationships that are a central part of work in the public service: relationships with the Government and the Parliament; with the public; and with public service colleagues.

Acknowledgement of Country

The APSC acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and recognises the continuing connection to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and to Elders both past and present.
