The capability review of Services Australia has been published under the Australian Government’s pilot Capability Review Program.
Services Australia’s Capability Review was led by a Senior Review Team, comprising independent reviewers Mr David Thodey AO and Ms Cheryl-anne Moy and senior APS reviewers Ms Nicola Hinder PSM, Deputy Secretary, Department of Parliamentary Services and Mr Ben Kelly, Deputy Commissioner, Australian Taxation Office. Staff from the Australian Public Service Commission supported the senior reviewers with their work.
The Australian Public Service Commissioner endorsed the final report on 12 December 2024.
Agency’s action plan
In response to the 2024 capability review, Services Australia has developed an action plan. The action plan outlines how the agency will lift its capability over the coming years. The agency will report on progress against their action plan through their corporate plan and annual report available at https://www.transparency.gov.au/publications.
The agency’s action plan was published on 3 June 2025.
