The APSJobs team at the Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) has launched a new mobility-focused jobs board. This makes it easier to advertise and apply for temporary opportunities within the Australian Public Service (APS).
42 Commonwealth agencies are already advertising temporary moves. This includes secondments, temporary transfers and micro-assignments. The jobs range across all disciplines.
A temporary move in or out of a team can:
address surges or peaks in demand
solve complex problems
develop employees’ skills and capabilities.
The APSJobs team developed the board to make it easier for agencies to use mobility as workforce tool and for Commonwealth employees to:
find temporary opportunities on APSJobs
gain skills and experience to take the next step in their career
experience something different while maintaining their permanent position.
APS Census results show the visibility of opportunities in the APS is an ongoing barrier to mobility. Including the function in APSJobs creates a central place for agencies to share and employees to apply for temporary opportunities.
