Danielle Wood appointed as new Co-Head of Evaluation Profession

Congratulations to Danielle Wood who is appointed as the new Co-Head of the APS Evaluation Profession.

Danielle joins Dr Shane Johnson from Treasury in this key leadership role.

The Evaluation Profession plays a vital role in supporting high-quality, evidence informed policy and program delivery.

As the demands on government become more complex, strong evaluation capability is essential to ensure:

  • public value
  • inform investment decisions
  • continuously improve outcomes for the Australian community.

Danielle brings deep expertise in economic policy, public accountability, and evidence-based decision making. As former CEO of the Grattan Institute, she led nationally significant work on productivity, budget policy, and government reform. Danielle is currently the Chair of the Productivity Commission, further reinforcing her commitment to impact, rigour and transparency in public policy.

Together with Shane, Danielle will help lead the next phase of growth for the APS Evaluation Profession, embedding a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
