Women in IT Executive Mentoring program

The Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) is on the search for Chief Information Officers (CIOs) to become mentors as part of their 2018/19 Women in IT Executive Mentoring (WITEM) program.

Mentors should be past or present CIOs at the SES Band 2 or 3 level.

The WITEM program is for talented Executive Level 2 women who want to progress their careers in IT. In this program, a mentor is matched with a talented female EL2 working in a digital role from a different department or agency for 12 months.

The program helps women progress their digital careers within the Australian Government through:

  • face-to-face mentoring
  • inter-departmental learning
  • facilitated group sessions
  • cross-government networking

CIOs can nominate themselves or HR managers can nominate CIOs by emailing womeninIT [at] digital.gov.au. Nominations are open until 9 August 2018.

At this stage, the DTA is only seeking nominations for mentors. If you’re an EL2 interested in participating in the program as a mentee, please get in touch with your HR manager.

The WITEM program was founded by Dell Australia and New Zealand in 2005.

Later this year the DTA will open nominations for an EL1 coaching program.
