UC offers access to student talent pool

Do you have a project and you could use some extra help or need a fresh perspective? If so, the University of Canberra (UC) has an opportunity for you!

The Workforce Integrated Learning (WIL) team at UC recently presented to the Communications Cross Agency Network (ComCAN) on the opportunities for agencies to partner with them—through hosting interns or suggesting topics for student projects.

WIL provides opportunities for students to engage with their chosen professions before graduating by learning first-hand through real work or work-like experiences. These opportunities could be mutually beneficial to APS agencies and departments who’ll have access to a student talent pool.

Opportunities include paid or unpaid internships ranging from 100-200 hours, or collaboration with multiple students on a specific project or event. These can be arranged outside semester dates to suit the employer.

To discuss how your agency or department can get involved please contact Natalie Larkins at FADengage [at] canberra.edu.au.

IP Australia is one of several agencies already making the most of this opportunity. It’s also the ComCAN host for 2019. The next meeting will be on Tuesday 18 June, 10am-12pm at IP Australia.
