National Inquiry into Sexual Harassment in Australian Workplaces

The Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) invites individuals and organisations to share their views, experiences and suggestions for change to inform the National Inquiry into sexual harassment in Australian workplaces.

The Inquiry invites any Australian worker who has experienced sexual harassment in the workplace to make a confidential online submission to the AHRC. Submissions close on 28 February 2019.

There may be current or former APS employees who have resolved the legal aspect of their workplace sexual harassment matter on terms which included a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

If an NDA has been agreed to, normally parties to that agreement are not permitted to disclose any aspect of the matter. However, to support the Inquiry, the Secretaries Board has agreed that current or former APS employees may request a limited waiver of the NDA so that employees have the opportunity to contribute to the Inquiry.

The Ethics Advisory Service (EAS) at the Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) will act as a conduit between affected employees and the agency with which they have signed a NDA. Visit the APSC website for further information.

Information shared with the APSC will be handled in strict confidence.
