As an organisation that operates in both the public and private sector, Mercy Health has been a proud recipient of the WGEA's Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation for a number of years. The citation recognises our active commitment to achieving gender equality whilst being a leader in driving positive change for inclusive workplaces. Both of these things support us in attracting and retaining the best talent, which in industries such as health and aged care can present real challenges with respect to labour shortages. As women represent 85% of our workforce, we have implemented a number of initiatives to support gender diversity such as; an Equity & Inclusion Committee Chaired by our Group Chief Executive Officer, flexible work arrangements accessed by 82% of our people and a range of professional development opportunities. Mercy Health is of the view that equity and inclusiveness is critical for success in business and delivering the best possible care to those utilising our services every day.
