Grad Conference 2020, which replaces the former Graduate Event Series, has been postponed to later in the year. Further details will be available shortly.
A review of the former Graduate Event Series (Grad Connect, Mentor, Hack and Reflect) was undertaken at the end of 2019. Based on the outcomes of the review, which incorporated feedback from the 2019 graduates and graduate coordinators, a decision was made to trial a new approach in 2020.
Grad Conference 2020 will be a two-day conference that aims to provide improved development opportunities in broadly applicable skills that will benefit graduates throughout their APS careers. For example, skills in effective networking, strategic thinking, influencing, learning from failure, dealing with difficult situations, and more.
The program will include inspiring speakers, from within and beyond the APS; expert panel discussions; and interactive workshops that are both fun and challenging.
The event will take place in Canberra. It is envisaged that by having one two-day event, versus the four shorter events that formerly comprised the Graduate Event Series, it will be more likely that graduates outside of Canberra will be supported in travelling to attend the event.
Once a date has been confirmed, a more detailed program will be made available. Graduate coordinators in APS agencies and departments will be advised accordingly.
Registrations will be coordinated through graduate coordinators.
