Partners of the APS - Australia’s learned academies
Date:
1 August 2019
A formidable source of expertise, research and interesting ideas are Australia’s four learned academies. They are the Australian Academy of Science, Australian Academy of the Humanities, Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia and the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering.
The academies provide independent, authoritative and expert advice and often to contribute to public policy. They also promote excellence in their fields.
You can find studies and discussions on a variety of topics on their websites. For example:
- Short, punchy videos and articles on scientific topics ranging from mining the Moon to using viruses to make new medicines.
- The changing world of work – a research piece on digital futures including robots, algorithms and big data.
- Information about last year’s Humanities, Arts & Culture Data Summit.
- A recording of the Peter Karmel Forum 2019 about Understanding Politics and Policy through a Values Lens.
