The next APS200 event is on 25 June 2020. It will be a virtual event focussed on how the group needs to work together to deliver the Government’s economic and social services priorities and support Australia’s broader COVID-19 recovery. Invitees have been emailed directly with event and registration details.
APS200 events are organised in partnership between the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and the Australian Public Service Commission. Their purpose is to inform and update, and provide a platform to exchange ideas, share knowledge and contribute to the implementation of the Government’s reform agenda formed from the Independent Review of the Australian Public Service.
Participation in events is by invitation only to the APS200 group, and proxy arrangements do not apply.
As stated in the Review, the APS200 group is the most senior leadership group in the APS. It includes all Secretaries, Agency Heads and SES Band 3s in departments and agencies that engage staff under the Public Service Act 1999. The group was established following a recommendation of the 2010 report, Ahead of the Game: Blueprint for the Reform of Australian Government Administration. Its purpose is to undertake strategic projects and initiatives set by the Secretaries Board and champion issues such as APS diversity, Indigenous employment, service responsiveness and access to government information.
