Applications open for DTA’s data fellowship program

The Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) is opening applications for its 2018–19 Data Fellowship Program open on Friday 13 July. The program gives ten high-performing data specialists from Commonwealth agencies the opportunity to work with CSIRO’s data innovation group, Data61.

During their three-month placement, fellows develop solutions for data-related problems or opportunities. The placement is a chance to step outside your day job and work on data analysis, forecasting, developing IT feeds to create prototypes that improve, or completely redesign, an approach to real-life problems.

Former fellows have carried out a variety of data-related projects including a real-time file identification system to support digital forensics, improving the timing of social media posts and using location data from Australian Business Numbers to analyse business information.

Read more about the program and keep an eye on the DTA website for details about how to apply.
