Additional ways to gain employment in the Australian Public Service

APSjobs

All vacancies in the Australian Public Service (APS) for a period of more than 18 months, including graduate opportunities, are advertised online at APSjobs. Vacancies can also be advertised on individual agency websites and jobseeker sites. The APS encourages people with disability to apply for any position.

If you meet the definition of disability you can apply for jobs advertised under the RecruitAbility scheme or the Affirmative measure – disability employment For more information about these see:

Affirmative measure – disability

On 1 December 2016, a new disability employment affirmative measure came into effect. It allows agencies to identify any vacancy as open only to people with disability, or a particular type of disability. These positions can be viewed on the APSjobs website by selecting the Affirmative Measure - Disability tick box.

Further information on the Affirmative Measure - Disability can be found in the Affirmative Measures applicant guide.

Other graduate positions

APS Graduate Programs are advertised on the APSjobs Graduate Portal and agency websites.

Other APS agency graduate programs may also have a recruitment stream for people with disability or apply the RecruitAbility scheme.
