APS at a glance—all staff
At 30 June 2006 there were 146,434 staff in the APS. This total comprised:
- 134,632 ongoing staff (up by 9.1% from 123,452 in June 2005) 70
- 11,802 non-ongoing staff (up by 16.4% from 10,141 in June 2005).
During 2005–06:
- 20,688 ongoing employees were engaged (up by 79.4% from 11,530 in 2004–05)
- 9506 ongoing employees separated from the APS (down by 9.8% from 10,540 in 2004–05)
- 5076 ongoing employees moved into coverage of the PS Act (these employees are included in ongoing engagements).
