The exhibition of 39 artworks showcases Indigenous and non-Indigenous artists from across the country and their personal exploration of reconciliation through the mediums of painting, drawing and print. It will be open to the public from Monday 2 July 2007 until 27 July 2007 and winners will be announced at a gala awards night on Wednesday, 11 July 2007 at the National Museum of Australia, Canberra.
The exhibition is part of a campaign by the Australian Public Service Commission, with the support of over 22 agencies to commemorate the 1967 referendum and promote the Australian Public Service as an employer that can offer Indigenous Australians diverse and rewarding career paths and values their culture.
The 1967 referendum is largely remembered as a vote to end discrimination against Indigenous Australians and is celebrated as a landmark event in relations between Indigenous and non‑Indigenous Australia .
