Note for file: A report on recordkeeping in the Australian Public Service

Management Advisory Committee 8

Case studies

The Case Studies that follow draw upon the direct experience of records managers working in the Australian Public Service. They detail recordkeeping strategies and better practice, especially in the area of electronic recordkeeping.

In selecting example agencies the MAC Recordkeeping Project Team reviewed agency responses to recent recordkeeping surveys undertaken by both the Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) and the National Archives of Australia (NAA).

That there is no single solution to implementing recordkeeping in an agency but the strategies, ideas and practices in these agencies can be adapted or built upon by agencies with similar operating environments.
