Indigenous graduate and cadetship programmes

The Australian Government wants enthusiastic Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander university students and graduates for exciting career opportunities. Opportunities are available in a variety of APS agencies, across a range of disciplines.

Apprenticeship / Traineeship programme

The Indigenous Entry Level Recruitment Programme (IELRP) is a 12 month programme designed to prepare participants for a career with the Australian Public Service (APS). Many APS Agencies employ Indigenous trainees. Trainees are offered ongoing employment and undertake study in government or business.
