Welcome

Welcome to our Townsville IAPSEN. IAPSEN is for all Indigenous Australian Public Servants (APS) in Townsville. So come along to our meetings and find out what is happening in other APS agencies.

We hold our meetings over various times to try and suit as many people as possible with an ideal opportunity to network with your fellow  Indigenous APS employees. Our meetings include guest speakers, updates on what is happening in the APS, information on APSC Indigenous Programmes and general discussions. Check out our calendar of events for up and coming meetings and activities.

The Committee is currently working hard to reform and re-energise the Townsville network and is striving to make the network more relevant  and supportive for Townsville Indigenous APS employees.

Our current priorities are to :

  • Build support for employee participation in the network across local Departments.
  • Support connections across Departments
  • Develop a local mentoring and peer support program
  • Look out for future meeting dates on this page and be sure to give your managers and workplaces plenty of notice to ensure your attendance at these meetings. If you are new to the APS and would like to attend IAPSEN meetings please email townsville.iapsen@apsc.gov.au and we will update our records and add you to our emailing list.

Finally a big thank you to our Townsville Indigenous APS employees who have given their time and energy to develop our business plan  and attend meetings to date. Your continued support is essential to the reformation and re-energisation of the Townsville network.

News

Nominations are sort for the North Queensland Indigenous APS Employees Network (IAPSEN) Chairperson.

IAPSEN's

The Indigenous APS Employees Networks (IAPSENs) were established as an Australian Public Service Commission initiative in response to feedback from APS Indigenous staff that there was a need for Indigenous employees in the Australian Public Service (APS) to have a means of networking in order to provide support to each other.

IAPSENs provide an important mechanism for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees to support each other, share information and experiences and promote cultural awareness and respect in the wider APS. Meetings and agendas are driven by members of IAPSEN. To find out about your local IAPSEN visit APSC – Indigenous APS Employment Network website: http://www.apsc.gov.au/iapsen/
