Perth IAPSEN
WelcomeWelcome to the West Aussie IAPSEN. ALL Indigenous Australian Public Servants are encouraged to join. So come along to our meetings and find out what is happening in other APS agencies. Although we are based in Perth there are no reasons why you cannot join the IAPSEN. Send your contact details and we will send out regular information. Who knows we may come to a town near you and you can always teleconference in. Like our fellow Brisbane colleagues we will be holding our meetings over lunch which is an ideal time to relax and to network with your fellow Indigenous APS employees. Our meetings include information on APSC Indigenous Programmes, APSC Updates, as well as an opportunity to find what’s happening in other agencies. You may just want to sit back and have a good chin wag….Check out our calendar of events for up and coming meetings and activities. SO…..Get out your diaries and give your managers and workplaces plenty of notice to ensure your attendance at these meetings. If you are new to the APS and would like to attend, email perth.iapsen@apsc.gov.au and we will update our records and add you to our emailing list. So please support your West Aussie IAPSEN by attending meetings. Your attendance and contribution is essential to the existence of the network. NewsThe WA Office of the Australian Public Service Commission was delighted to participate in the NAIDOC Perth Opening Ceremony on 6 July 2008. The Commission held a stall at the event, promoting Indigenous employment in the APS. Members of the WA IAPSEN kindly contributed their time at the stall and offered a friendly face to those in attendance, handing out promotional items and information on the APS. The day was a huge success, with a great number of members from the community attending the celebration. NAIDOC Perth scheduled entertainment throughout the day, and also a visit by Hon. Michelle Roberts, Minister for Indigenous Affairs. The event was a great opportunity to promote employment in the APS and the contribution from the IAPSEN members was greatly appreciated - Thank you to Christine Hoy, Pat Foot, Janelle Flack, Kim Hunter, Maria Knibbs, Maurice Agale and Alison Flack and also to NAIDOC Perth. |
