Circular 1995/26: Fitness for continued duty guidelines
Please note: This document is for reference purposes only and is no longer considered by the APS Commission to be current. It may contain good practice advice and/or advice on the transitional arrangements between the 1922 and 1999 Public Service Acts.
The purpose of this circular is to provide you with the new Public Service Commission booklet, Fitness for Continued Duty Guidelines. Several copies of the booklet are enclosed for distribution within your agency as appropriate.
This document contains the Fitness for Continued Duty instructions notified in the Gazette of 13 December 1990 as amended by the procedures contained in the Fitness for Continued Duty Instructions (Circular 1993/13 of 15 September 1993) and Changes to the Public Service Regulations Regarding Fitness for Continued Duty and the Medical Examination of Persons on Probation ( Circular 1994/6 of 1 June 1994). The document also incorporates reference to the relevant aspects of the termination of employment provisions of the Industrial Relations Act 1988.
