Circular No 2006/2: Citizenship requirements for engagement in the Australian Public Service
This circular is to advise of changes to the Australian Public Service Commission’s publication Conditions of engagement. Chapter 3 of that publication, “General principles relating to the citizenship requirement”, has been redrafted to better reflect the flexibility available to an agency head to engage a person who is not an Australian citizen.
2. A full copy of the redrafted chapter is now available at www.apsc.gov.au/publications04/conditions.htm. There is no plan, at this time, to reprint the full publication in hard copy.
3. Further information on the matters raised in this circular is available from the APS Commission’s Employment Policy Adviceline—by phone on (02) 6202 3859 or e-mail employmentadvice@apsc.gov.au. It may be appropriate for more complex or sensitive queries to be dealt with in writing.
