Circular No 2005/1: Electronic publication of the APS Employment Database Manual
Useful references
Please note: This document is for reference purposes only and is no longer considered by the APS Commission to be current. It may contain good practice advice and/or advice on the transitional arrangements between the 1922 and 1999 Public Service Acts.
The purpose of this Circular is to advise agencies that the revised APS Employment Database (APSED) manual is now available on the Commission's website. It replaces Public Service Act Advice No 25: APS Employment Database.
The publication provides agencies with information about the specifications for data required for APSED, and describes in detail the codes, definitions and intended usages of the data items. It also includes information about how agencies should provide the information to the Commission.
The revised specifications include two new variables, Comsuper's member number and email address for all employees, as well as extending the scope of the collection to include agency heads. Previous AGS number has been deleted as a variable.
In addition, the Commission is considering whether the current remuneration data should be expanded to include bonuses as a separately identified amount, and data on whether the employee is covered by a CA or AWA. Members of the APSED team will contact agencies as part of this feasibility study.
The publication will only be available in electronic form.
