Home page navigation

The home page menu bar shown below enables access to various pages as described by each text link.

When selecting the Modules link, a menu will display as shown below.

Selecting each of the module names will present a short summary of the module as well as an indication of the time needed to view the content.

To open the module, select the start button button.

Module page navigation

Within a module, two navigation areas exist. A top menu provide access to functions as described by each text link.

A side Topics menu will also display as shown below.

Clicking on each Topic heading listed will take you to that topic in the module.

To move within the module, use the back and next button buttons.

To exit from a module, select the close button button from the top menu.

Accessibility

 The programme has been designed to conform with accessibility requirements for those people that use assistive technologies.

Alternative Texts for non text elements

The programme uses various graphical elements to support the text content and provide navigation. These include static images as well as Flash based activities.

All non-text elements have been assigned an alternative text property, enabling screen readers to describe the particular object. All Flash based objects also contain an alternative text description.

Tab key navigation

All menus and objects on the pages of the programme can be navigated to using the Tab key. When an object is in focus, a small border will be visible around the object. Pressing the Enter key will activate the object.

The following table outlines keyboard shortcuts for navigating in the programme:

Note : In Internet Explorer 6, all three access keys are pressed simultaneously. In Internet Explorer 7, the first two keys in the combination are pressed and released before pressing the Enter key. If an access key combination does not work, press the Tab key and then enter the access key combination again.
